Criteria
- Swimmers would normally be between 13 and 17 years of age
- Have 4 good technical strokes, and good basic skills
- Demonstrate competitive skill ability according to ASA rules and regulations
- Be able to do 5 swimming sessions and 2 land training sessions bi-weekly, 85% of the total monthly sessions available as a minimum requirement
Purpose
- National, Regional, County competitions
- To bring in swimmers to competitive swimming requirements
- To improve basic skills, and body composition
- To educate swimmers about discipline and commitment level
- Introduce swimmers to general sports nutritional habits
Training Criteria for movement to the squad
- 10x100m FC on 1.45
- 10x100m I.M. on 2.00
- 8x100m incremental test set
- Be confident of swimming 200m & 400m at competition

What to wear: one piece swimming costume for girls, trunks or jammers for boys (no board shorts)
What to bring: water bottle, kickboard, fins, pullbuoy, hand paddles, goggles, hat, drag shorts, land-training kit (shorts should be worn on poolside for land- training, stretching etc)
