I started swimming when I attended a sports performance school in Bulgaria and Greece and joined A.S. Aris swimming club.  I was a member of the Greek Junior National team and held 3 Greek National junior records.  I qualified as a finalist at the 200 and 2004 Greek Olympic Trials and from 2001-2005 attended the University of Illinois in Chicago on an athletic scholarship, where I was co-captain of the swimming team, being named Newcomer of the Year.

After completing my undergraduate degree in exercise physiology I gained substantial experience working as a swimming and strength and conditioning coach, developing exercise programs for student athletes.
I completed a Masters degree in Exercise Science and combined my passion for science and sport by working with elite athletes in the fields of sports science, exercise physiology, rehabilitation and swimming coaching.

I first became involved with Leander in 1978-79 and subsequently became a qualified coach.  I also served on the committee for many years.  During my time with Leander I have taught and coached swimmers who have progressed through to the top squads and gone on to compete at County and National level.  In 1998 I had to resign due to personal circumstances, which was very sad for me, but after a long break I was asked to return to Leander in 2008 and I was very happy to accept the invitation.  I am passionate about teaching and coaching swimmers to achieve skills and technique to help them perform to the best of their ability.  I now coach Junior Gold squad and also Silver squad on Saturday mornings.  I also teach on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.

I qualified as an advanced teacher at Crystal Palace and have been coaching and teaching for several years.  Before joining Leander I worked for Lambeth Council, South  London SC and Tigersharks SC.  I am responsible for the teams that represent the club at inter club galas like the Wandsworth Juniors and also help guide the careers of our disability swimmers.

I used to swim for Leander and then started teaching when I was 16. I am currently studying psychology and health at Roehampton University.
