Woking Octopus Results

It was a long day but worth it. Lots of trophies (intriguing glass ones), even more PBs – another successful gala for Leander at Woking – well done to all who took part!

The summer club championships take place on Sunday 23 June at JAGS. Forms are with squad reps, but now you can also enter online. Please note these championships are for squad swimmers only – academy members are not eligible.

Bronze and Silver Sunday sessions moving to St Joseph’s

From this Sunday 12 May, Bronze and Silver will swim at St Joseph’s College, Beulah Hill, SE19 3HL. The session times are slightly different:

Bronze 4:30pm – 5:30pm (1hr earlier)
Silver 5:30pm – 7pm (1.5hrs)

Coach will be Stephen Baker.

London Region Youths Results

Congratulations to our swimmers who took part last weekend in the London Region Youth Championships at Crystal Palace. See the full results

Toby Seriki took 4th place in the 50 fly final with a PB, he also achieved PBs in the 100 fly and 50 back.
Reiss Ormonde-Cunningham qualified in 3 events and despite being the youngest competitor of the championship achieved 4th place in the 200 fly.
Sadie van Bogaerts finished 4th in the 100 meter breaststroke with a PB
Aymeric Bouyer achieved a 2s PB in the 400 free and took 14th place overall .

These are all great performances by our club’s senior swimmers – this championship is just one step down from the Nationals and the level is extremely high.

Academy Gala Success!

Cakes!

Well done to all the swimmers who took part in the Academy Gala on Sunday 28 April. Everyone did really well – we hope you all enjoyed yourself and had a good time. A massive THANK YOU to all the parents and our Squad swimmers who helped out on the day – we can’t run this event without you.

Special thanks to the squad swimmers who ran the cake stall and raised £87!

Squad trials Sunday 19th May

We are holding trials for potential competitive squad swimmers on Sunday 19th May at St Joseph’s College from 5pm to 6pm. Swimmers should already be able to swim at least 100m of free, back and breast, 50m of fly, be able to tumble turn and to dive from blocks. They should also be fit enough to keep up with an hour-long session during which ability in all four strokes will be assessed.

Please note this session is NOT for prospective entrants to our teaching academy, for which assessments will take place later this term.
