I qualified for my first National Age Group Championships, and National Final, at the age of 12 in both the 100 and 200 Butterfly. Over the next few years I continued to improve and at 15 I qualified for the 2010 British Championships/Commonwealth Games Trials in the 100 Butterfly, which then led to my decision to move to Kelly College (now known as Mount Kelly) for my two years in Sixth Form.
I attended numerous England Talent Programs which led to the 2012 Olympic Trials.
Following my success at Kelly College and completion of my BTEC in Sport Performance & Excellence, I took a gap year and swam under Paul Robbins in Essex, alongside a few other British level swimmers in order to excel even further in the pool before moving to the United States. Come the summer of 2013 I moved to California to swim and study for the California State University, Bakersfield Roadrunners under a full scholarship. My Freshman year I aided the Women’s team in a winning season of dual meets and added the 200 backstroke onto my events list. Before moving back to London, I completed a very successful Sophomore year, winning multiple dual meets, setting a school record as part of the Women’s 200medley relay at the Western Athletic Conference Championships, making finals in the 100fly, 200fly and 200back and also making CSUB’s Top 5 All-Time list in both 200 events.
